The presence of the Amsterdam Fund for the Arts can be found in any number of unique art projects, both for and in the city. As advisor, as investor, as fuel and catalyst for both professional and amateur art. We are always on the lookout for new initiatives and new talent, and our task is to ensure an exciting and flourishing climate for the arts and culture. With a view to this end we organise debates, we lobby, and we stimulate cooperation. Above all, we provide funding for Amsterdamers who themselves organise projects in art and culture in the city. In 2006 we provided more than € 6 million in funding.
The Fund finances all forms of art, such as music, new media, film, theatre, dance photography and the visual arts, and is itself financed by the City of Amsterdam.
